FARMINGTON – Farmington Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Winter Warm Ups during February vacation.

People of all ages are invited to come celebrate winter, community and vacation. Open to all community members, each event runs from 1-3 p.m. Free hot chocolate will be provided.

Monday, Feb. 19: Snowshoeing at LEAP fit Trail, 482 Farmington Falls Road. Snow shoes will be available or bring your own. Easy to moderate, the wooded loop trail is one mile.

Tuesday, Feb. 20: Ice skating at Hippach Field. Some skates will be available or bring your own.

Wednesday, Feb. 21: Sledding at Prescott Field. Please bring your own sleds as only a few will be available.

Thursday, Feb. 22: Snow Sculpture Contest at UMF Mantor Library Green. Some tools will be available. Fell free to bring your own tools and organic decorations. This friendly competition will be judged by UMF Mainely Outdoors crew members. Prizes will be awarded.

Friday, Feb. 23: Nordic skiing at Titcomb Mountain. All equipment will be provided. Join us on the final day for a fun, celebratory s’moresmaking party at the Titcomb Mountain fire pit. The fire will be lit at 2:30 p.m. Stay late for the Healthy Community Coalition’s Free Ski, Friday, 3-8 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, or unfavorable conditions, open gym time will be held at the Farmington Recreation Center. Updates will be posted on the Farmington Park and Recreation Department Facebook page.
