PERU — Van “Steve” Brann, 68, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

He was born in Farmington on Aug. 29, 1949, son of Loando V. Brann and Ida A. (Pingree) Brann.

Steve was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1967.

He married Deborah L. Childs on Sept. 21, 1968

Steve was employed at Stowell-MacGregor, Timberlands Sawmill, was a self-employed logger and worked for the Town of Peru road crew.

He loved hunting, fishing, riding his golf cart and spending time with family and friends in his favorite place: his garage. He also enjoyed going to Florida to spend his vacation with his best friends.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah, of Peru; sons, Maurice Brann and wife, Jaime, of Peru, Stacy Brann and wife, Lisa, of Peru; daughter, Rosanna Young, of Peru; grandsons, Allen McLean of Rumford, Eric Holman of Peru; granddaughters, Ashley Russell and husband, Andrew, of Bangor, Brittany Dwinal and husband, Colby, of Peru, Meagan Brann and companion, Shane Levesque, of Mexico, Kristen Pingree and husband, Troy, of Dixfield; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Gene, Tucker, Ida, Adalyn; brother, Isadore Brann, and wife, Caroline, of Dixfield; brother-in-law, Leo LaPointe, of Rumford; special nieces, Jamie Childs of Mexico, Ashley Ellis of Auburn; and his best friends, Andy Sylvester, and wife, Jean, of Florida.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Marie LaPointe; and brothers, Lawrence Brann and Kenneth Brann.
