AUBURN — Shirley E. Raimey, 80, of South Paris, passed peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Hospice House.
She worked at Norway Footwear, Mecon Manufacturing and retired from Sebago Moccasin in Bridgton. She loved visiting the ocean and lighthouses, and especially eating lobster rolls.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Lowell and husband, Dan, of Turner, and Diane Strout of Norway; her sister, Caroline Currier of Biddeford; three grandchildren, Jason Berry of Turner, Burt Strout III of Oxford, and Christopher, of Oxford; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her friend, Betsy Gilbert.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Edna Libby; her husband, Charles Raimey; her brothers, Warren Tibbetts, Herman and Sherman Libby and George Libby Jr.; and her sisters, Judith Walker, Beryle Strout and Maxine Pope.
Her family wishes to thank a few of her caregivers, Shanda, Sharon, Tilda, Jeanie and Holly, as well as Dr. Pyenta, Carmen and all the nursing staff at the Auburn Dialysis Center and many of her friends at her residence at Hill Street Common.
