LEWISTON — Frances M. Bowie, 81, formerly of Surry Lane, Lewiston, died Saturday, Feb. 17, at Russell Park Rehab and Living Center, where she had been a resident.
Born in Rumford on July 19, 1936, she was the daughter of Lorien and Marcia Elms Bowie. She moved to the local area at a young age and attended Lewiston schools, graduating from Lewiston High School, Class of ’55. Frances worked as a bookkeeper in the offices of the S.S. Kresge department store. After the downtown Lewiston store closed, she went to work at the offices of the Kmart store in Auburn until her retirement. She enjoyed cribbage and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Bowie, of Lewiston; a sister, Marion Boyd, of San Diego, California; a nephew, Keith Boyd, and wife, Kim, of Vista, California; a niece, Cynthia, and husband, Joh Gibson, of San Diego, California; and great-nieces and nephews Lily and Mali Boyd and Shane, Patrick, and Joseph Journeay.
Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by a sister, Beverly.
