AUBURN — Mrs. Doris Gaudin Robbins, 101, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Schooner Estates in Auburn, where she resided. She was formerly of Rumford.

Born in Kingsburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, on May 12, 1916, she was a daughter of William and Edith May (Veinotte) Mossman. She came to this country in 1937. She attended schools in Kingsburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, and received her GED in Rumford.

Doris owned and operated Dee-R’s Dress Shop on Congress Street in Rumford for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Mexico First Baptist Church, where she was very active. Doris loved her home and took great pride in her garden. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and entertaining her family and friends.

Doris was married in Mexico on Jan. 20, 1945, to Arthur J. “Pete” Gaudin, who died on Nov. 30, 1958. She was later married in Augusta on Dec. 26, 1964, to Ralph W. Robbins, who died in Rumford on Oct. 7, 2000.

She is survived by a son, Peter W. Gaudin, and his wife, Sherry, of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; stepdaughter, Ann Paradis, and her husband, Dean, of Winslow; two granddaughters, Sandy Dickie and husband, Troy, of Turner and Melissa Campbell, of Turner; two great-grandchildren, Jared Dickie, of Turner, and Sydnee Vanhorn, of Turner; two step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Mark Mossman, of Nova Scotia, Canada.

She was predeceased by her husbands; two sisters, Dottie and MaryAnn; two brothers, Arthur and Clyde.
