Fiddlehead School of Arts and Sciences in Gray, pre-K-5, 133 students, 27 on the waiting list. Fiddlehead has 34 special education students (25.6 percent); 23.3 percent receive free or reduced lunch.

Harpswell Coastal Academy in Harpswell, grades 6-12, 195 students, no waiting list. Harpswell has 64 (32.8 percent) special ed students; 36.9 percent receive free or reduced lunch.

Maine Academy of Natural Sciences, Hinckley, grades 9-12, 178 students, 28 on the waiting list. It has 65 special ed students, (36.5 percent); 64.6 percent receive free or reduced lunch.

Maine Connections Academy, a virtual school, grades 7-12, 406 students, 36 on the waiting list. MCA has 63 students (15.5 percent) special ed students; 40.4 percent receive free or reduced lunch.

Maine Virtual Academy, a virtual school, grades 7-12, 390 students, 202 on the waiting list. Maine Virtual Academy has 59 (15.1 percent) special ed students; 61.3 percent receive free or reduced lunch.

Snow Pond Arts Academy in Sidney, grades 9-12, 145 students, 5 on the waiting list. Snow Pond has 21 special ed students (14.5 percent); 24.1 percent receive free or reduced lunch.

State totals of charter school students: 2,240, with another 394 on waiting lists; 20.4 percent of students are special ed, compared to the state average of 17 percent; 40.3 percent of charter school students receive free or reduced-price lunch, compared to the statewide average of 45.6 percent.
