BRISTOL, R.I. — Nancy A. Bellegarde transitioned to a new life early Thursday morning, Feb. 22, just six days before her 90th birthday. Her family was with her.

Nancy was the wife of Charles J. Bellegarde Jr. She was born in Caribou, the youngest child of Vital and Camille (Fournier ) Cyr. Nancy was a woman of many talents. She was an accomplished seamstress, artist and an outstanding athlete, counting golf, tennis, skiing, bowling and pickleball among her competitive endeavors. More than that, Nancy was a devoted wife and mother. She was a strong advocate for her children who include: Lynda Foisy, Kenneth Foisy and his wife Pat, Michelle Vivieros and her husband John and her youngest child, Deanne Bellegarde, whom she lost to illness at a very young age.

Nancy and Charlie built a wonderful life together, living in Lewiston until Charlie’s retirement. In 2002, they relocated to The Villages, Fla., where they spent quality time together, making many new friends while maintaining their long-term connections with their many Maine friends.

Nancy is survived by one sister, Theresa Bell of Lewiston, three children (Lynda Foisy, Kenneth Foisy and Michelle (Bellegarde) Viveiros), her grandchildren (Kelsie Fahey, Glenn Hood, Ryann Hood, Dustin Foisy, George Foisy, Deanne (Viveiros) Munn and Cory Viveiros) and her great-grandchildren (Hunter and Haven Hood, Charlotte (Charlie) and John Munn.)

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Charlie, her sister, Rita Eldredge, her brother, Roland Cyr and her youngest daughter, Deanne Bellegarde.
