AUBURN — Henry P. Berube, 80, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, at his home in Auburn. He was born Nov. 13, 1937, a son of the late Arthur and Theresa (Cloutier) Berube.

Henry lived in Maine most of his life. He was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. On May 23, 1959, he married Constance (Giguere); together they had five children. They shared a happy and loving marriage of over 33 years, until her passing in 1992.

He was an accomplished Mason for over 35 years, working for several companies throughout central Maine. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, playing horseshoes, spending time with his family and working around the house. He loved traveling to his second home in Florida for the winters with his companion, Germaine, and his dog, Bud. Henry had a great sense of humor, but was known to speak the truth and tell you how it was. He was a hardworking man, always filled with ambition and striving toward his goals, even in his later years. Those who knew him most would describe him as loving and generous.

Henry is survived by his two sons, Henry Jr. and his wife, Brenda, and Raymond and his wife, Nyomi; his two daughters, Anita and Cindy; his three brothers, Arthur and his wife, Gerry, Leo and Roland and his wife, Linda; his eight grandchildren, Ryan, Karena, Amanda and her fiancé, Andrew, Erica, Nathan, Michael, David and Nicole; his three great-grandchildren, Eliot, Iyrah and Meadow; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Constance; his infant son, Eric; his sister, Jane; and his longtime companion, Germaine Dostie.

He is loved more than words can describe and will be missed always.

As Dad would say, “It is what it is, over and out!”.
