Hats off to both the Edward Little girls’ and boys’ hoop teams that won state championships on March 2 — the girls won their first ever, and the boys won for the first time since 1946 (when my mom went to E.L.).

Kudos also to Lynn Girouard’s Lewiston girls’ team, who almost derailed E.L.’s title hopes in a hard-fought first-round game that was decided only in the final seconds.

Times like that make one proud to be from the two proud individual cities of Lewiston and Auburn
