JAY — A Massachusetts man is accused of driving drunk after his vehicle went off icy Route 133 late Friday, hit a snowbank, rolled onto its side and struck a utility pole.

Dave A. Nosiglia, 58, of Hingham, Massachusetts, and his passenger, Harold Layland, 61, of Hanson, Massachusetts, suffered minor injuries in the accident reported at about 11 p.m., Police Chief Richard Caton IV said Monday. The windshield struck the pole but the pole did not break, he said.

Officer Dylan Rider noted in his report that the road was icy, Caton said.

Rider arrested Nosiglia on a misdemeanor charge of operating under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington. He was released on $500 cash bail on Saturday.

Jay Fire Rescue Department, Livermore Falls Police Department and NorthStar EMS ambulance personnel also responded to assist.

Nosigilia is schedule to appear in a Farmington court on April 24.

Editor’s note: The OUI charge in this case was reduced as part of a plea agreement. Nosiglia pleaded guilty to driving to endanger, his license was suspended for 30 days and he was fined $595, plus court costs.
