AUBURN — Victor J. Deprez, 86, of Auburn, went home to the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, March 9. He was the husband to Irene (Obie) Deprez, the love and joy of his life, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, Mass., on May 1, 1931, he was the son of Victor and Irene (Bastine) Deprez. Victor retired from the North American Philips Corporation in 1995, where he worked as a centerless grinder for over 30 years.

He was a practicing member of the Roman Catholic Church and his strong faith and love of God was evident throughout his life. He enjoyed reading, listening to music and excercising, especially running, for which he received numerous awards.

Victor will be remembered for the tremendous love he had for his family. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren and later in life his great-grandchildren. He had a deep and abiding love for his country and thanked God every day for the freedom and opportunities that it gave to him. His sense of humor was legendary, and he had the ability to make everyone around him feel special and important.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; son, Daniel and his wife, Judy Deprez; daughter, Diane and her husband, Mike Smith; grandchildren, Danielle Jotham, Daniel Deprez Jr., Chelsea Ray and Matthew Deprez; and great-grandchildren, Elliana Jotham, Olive Jotham, Mikey Ray, Isaiah Deprez, D.J.
