NORWAY — The Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing Thursday on whether to extend the medical marijuana moratorium another 180 days.
The hearing begins at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.
In October 2017, voters unanimously passed a moratorium on establishing medical marijuana facilities. Some selectmen and many residents said they were concerned about the number of such proposals and the effect they would have on the downtown.
The moratorium was established to give a committee time to investigate how to develop land-use regulations for medical marijuana growing operations.
Other items on the Board of Selectmen agenda Thursday include:
• A public hearing on a liquor license for Smokin’ Dave’s Backyard BBQ and Grill;
• A motion to approve letter of intent with RealTerm Energy regarding converting incandescent streetlights to energy-saving LEDs; and
• An executive session to discuss a personnel matter.
