The headlines on a front-page story in the Thursday, March 15, edition of the Sun Journal on Saddleback ski resort should have read: “Questions raised after prospective Saddleback buyer’s comments are aired.” The headlines should have noted that Majella is the proposed buyer of Saddleback, not an investor, and a state official did not make any comment about Majella or Saddleback specifically.
In that same story, a quote from Maine Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais could have been interpreted as a comment specific to the Saddleback case. However, he was speaking in broad terms and not about the purchase of Saddleback.
Additionally, Greg Andrews should have been identified as Majella’s on-site chief financial officer at Saddleback and Fred LaMontagne as Majella’s on-site general manager at Saddleback.
