AUBURN — Roger J. Couillard, 87, of Wales, died Tuesday, March 13, at Clover Manor, with his family by his side.

He was born in Van Buren on Aug. 15, 1930, the son of the late Armand and Zenide (Dubois) Couillard.

He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 783 of Lewiston and Augusta from 1973 until he retired in 1987. He traveled to a lot of paper mills in Maine, New Hampshire and New York. Upon retiring, he took care of his late wife, Evelyn. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus. Roger loved his Lincoln Town Cars and tinkering on welding projects at home.

He is survived by his four sons, Peter and his wife, Louise, of Oakland, David and his wife, Sandra, of Turner, Philippe and his wife, Roxanne, of Greene, and Armand and his wife, Audrey, of Turner; two daughters, Adrienne DeForge and her boyfriend, Ed Adams, of Oxford, and Nicole Powell and her husband, Billy, of Greene; grandchildren, TJ and Beth Couillard of Monmouth, Troy and Jessica Couillard of Leeds, Lars and Noah DeForge of Sabattus, Will and Maggie Powell of Greene, Angela Powell of Kingsport, Tenn., and Christopher Powell of Greene; great-grandchildren, Brady and Lydia Couillard of Leeds, Alaina and Olivia Powell of Greene, Makayla, Karlie, Darnell and Breanna Powell of Kingsport, Tenn.; brothers, Eugene of Lewiston, Armand and his wife, Yvonne, of Lewiston, and Normand and his wife, Irene, of North Carolina; sisters, Omerine Desjardins and her husband, Leo, of Lewiston, Jeanne Lachance of California, Jackie Fish of North Carolina; and a lot of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roger was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Evelyn, of Wales; brothers, Larry of Auburn, and Roland of California; sisters, Mildred Asselin of Lewiston, and Theresa Bussiere of Lewiston.

The family sends their deepest appreciation to the staff at Clover Manor Health Care Facility and to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.
