Androscoggin County Democrats meeting

LEWISTON — An abbreviated meeting of the Androscoggin County Democratic Committee will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Bates College. The meeting will address plans for the 2018 Maine Democratic Party’s biennial convention in Lewiston from May 18 to 20.

The business meeting will be followed at 6:30 p.m. by a forum at the same location for the Democratic Congressional District 2 U.S. House candidates.

Historical society to hear author speak

HEBRON —  Steve Pinkham, author of “Old Tales of the Maine Woods,” will speak at the Hebron Historical Society meeting. The public is invited.

The talk will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the Town Office, 351 Paris Road. 

Meet candidates at Poland forum

POLAND — A forum, sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the conference room of the Town Office. It will offer an opportunity for candidates seeking office in town government this spring to be introduced to the voters.

After introductory statements by the candidates, there will be questions from the audience. The meeting will be televised on the public access channel. Viewers may phone or email questions for the candidates, either before or during the program,, to lcarey@polandtownoffice.org.

The town election will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the Town Hall, and the business part of the meeting will convene in the auditorium of Poland Regional High School at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 8.
