ANDOVER — A recount of ballots in March 20 election for selectman reversed the original announced outcome, Town Clerk Melinda Averill said.
Brian Mills defeated incumbent Jane Rich, 122-121 for a three-year term.
The original count had Rich the winner, 122-120.
A recount of ballots for fire chief showed Jim Adler still winning over Leo Camire, 120-119, instead of 121-118, Averill said.
Mills asked for a recount, which was done Saturday, and Camire asked for one, which was done the day after the election, the clerk said.
In another election, Averill said Road Commissioner Mark Farrington has agreed to serve again, after being chosen by write-in votes. He was not a formal candidate.
