JAY — The Jay Village Water District lifted its last boil-water order Monday to Verso’s Androscoggin Mill and the residents in Riley Village, according to Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere.
The district had a water-line break and searched for days until it was determined the leak was in the Androscoggin River off Route 140. The line goes across to Riley Road where the paper mill and village are located.
The boil-water order was lifted for most of the customers in the district on March 16.
The leak in the line in the river was repaired March 20 and water was restored to the mill and Riley residences that day but was shut down again for further repairs.
