Vietnam War Remembrance Day

JAY — A Vietnam War Remembrance Day program will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, at VFW Post 3335.

Sponsoring the event will be VFW Post 3335, American Legion Post 10 and Amvets Post 33. Veterans, spouses, friends and supporters are welcome to share stories and experiences, give support and comradeship.

Socrates Cafe to discuss financial future

BRIDGTON — Socrates Cafe will meet Monday, April 2, at the Bridgton Community Center. From 6:15 to 6:30 p.m. there will be a meet-and-greet; 6:30 to 8:30, discussion on “How Can We Insure Our Financial Future as a Country?”

Democratic Congressional Candidates Forum

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Democratic Committee (FCDC) and the UMF Democrats are co-hosting a Candidates Forum for challengers to the congressional seat currently held by Bruce Poliquin. On Wednesday, April 4, Democratic candidates will answer questions on topics ranging from the economy, healthcare and education to gun safety, immigration and the environment.

An informal meet-and-greet gathering will be held from 6 to 6:45 p.m. in the North Dining Hall. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in Lincoln Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.

PARIS — Members of the Floyd A. Harlow Jr. VFW Post 9787 will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at the post home, 58 East Main St.

Book Café to meet 

MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library Book Café, the adult reading group, will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:45 to 7 p.m.

Heritage club to hear of recent trip

RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon Wednesday, April 4, at Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shop, Route 2.

Circle of Inner Kindness

PARIS — The Circle of Inner Kindness will be hosted by Star Teachings at the Deering Memorial Community Center, 39 Main St., Route 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 4 and 18, across from Irving.

Use the side entrance and park behind the library. Everyone is welcome. It is handicapped-accessible.
