BRUNSWICK — Eileen Vivian Babcock, 66, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 20, at Midcoast Hospital. She was born in Lewiston on June 17, 1951, a daughter of the late Francis and Vivian (Goddard) Babcock.

On June 24, 1956, Eileen received the Lord as her savior at Charlie Marstella’s Church in Durham. Later in life, she chose to be a part of the Durham Friends Meeting House. She went to college at the University of Maine at Orono to receive her bachelor’s degree in education. She worked for the town of Durham and the state of Maine and many other organizations.

Her enjoyment was taking care of her parents, experimenting with new recipes and walking outside quietly with her family, and making cider with her father. She enjoyed helping people with various activities, such as taking them shopping and helping raise her nieces while her sister worked. She also was the head of the Lunt Cemetery for the Durham Meeting House and also many other offices for the Durham Meeting House. Her desire was to follow the Lord’s will in all that she did, including helping her brother and other family members.

Eileen is survived by her significant other, Tom Frye; her two brothers, Jerel and wife, Sheila Babcock, and Wilbert Babcock; her sister, Priscilla Wormwood; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Sylvia Babcock Davis.

Friends and family are invited to share their memories and offer their condolences by visiting Eileen’s online guest book at www.crosmanfuneralhome.com.
