LEWISTON — Three city women were arrested on charges of engaging in prostitution, police said Thursday.
Karrah K. Knight, 31, Brandi L. Hesketh, 35, and Nicole A. Ackerman, 35, were offered a variety of social services “in hopes (of) assisting them to make positive changes in their lives,” according to a statement issued by police.
“The Lewiston Police Department will continue addressing this issue by targeting those who engage in prostitution or solicit prostitutes,” police said.
Detectives and police officers have been collaborating with the District Attorney’s Office and local social service advocates to address the issue of prostitution, especially in inner-city areas.
