MECHANIC FALLS — The outside wedding of Maggie Norton and Michael Goss took place on Oct. 7 at Goss Berry Farm in Mechanic Falls, the childhood home of the bridegroom. The couple was married under an arch made by the bride’s father with the blueberry field in the background. Cliff Allen, pastor of Poland Baptist Church, officiated the ceremony.
Mrs. Goss is the daughter of Jeff and Nancy Norton of Poland. Mr. Goss is the son of Walter and Sharon Goss of Mechanic Falls.
Kristi and Taylor Darby, cousins of the bride, were the maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Quimi, and Sarah Goss, sisters of the bridegroom. Scarlett Quimi, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl.
Best man was Dustin Dionne, friend of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Stephen Goss, brother of the bridegroom, and Michael Ballard and Richard Griffiths, friends of the bridegroom. Ian Quimi, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
Both the bride and bridegroom are 2010 graduates of Poland Regional High School. The bride is a 2014 graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a major in politics and a minor in education. She is a first grade teacher at Guy E. Rowe Elementary School in Norway. The bridegroom is a 2014 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in mechanical engineering technology and a minor in engineering entrepreneurial. He recently started working full time at the family farm, Goss Berry Farm in Mechanic Falls as the farm manager.
Guests enjoyed a barbecue, lawn games, a S’mores bar, cider-making, a hayride, dancing and ended the evening with fireworks. The couple resides in Lewiston.
