Ready to walk or run for a great cause? The Courageous Steps Project will be hosting its 5th Annual Walk-Run in honor of Dylan McInnis on Sunday, May 20, at Old Town High School’s Victory Field from 12:30-2:30 p.m. with other activities beginning at 11 a.m.
The rain date for this event is on Sunday, May 27.
Event day registration begins at 11 a.m. with pre-registration check-in beginning at 11:30 a.m. The mile walk portion takes place at approximately 12:30 p.m, with the fun/competitive mile run portion following the mile walk.
Last year’s event raised approximately $7,500 for programs that help children and young adults with developmental challenges in Eastern Maine.
Other activities and amenities at the event include free massages by Healy Chiropractic in Brewer, an outdoor dodgeball challenge with an 11am start (must have 8 teams to play – register by emailing us), an appearance by Old Town Police and Fire with a fire truck and a police cruiser, and a bounce house/inflatable games will be available for kids to use. These are just some of the free activities and amenities available at this year’s event for all participants to use.
Teams are a minimum of $100 ($10 per person), with the option to add an additional person for an additional $10. This is per every additional person added onto the team. Individuals and families can register through those rates, or you can put together a team.
