LEWISTON — Healthy Androscoggin, 300 Main St., announces that Health Promotion Coordinator Emily Dooling Hamilton has received a national certificate in tobacco treatment practice from the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors and the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence.
The certificate demonstrates Hamilton’s advanced education in evidence-based tobacco competencies, skills and practice. Through her work at Healthy Androscoggin, she provides tobacco prevention education to fourth- and fifth-grade students to prevent children and teens from trying tobacco. She assists organizations and municipalities in developing tobacco-free policies that protect community members from secondhand smoke and provides education and support to tobacco users who aim to quit.
