AUBURN — Conrad J. Gervais, 87, of Lewiston peacefully passed away Monday, May 21, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Grand Isle on March 8, 1931, a son of the late Edward and Ida (Pelletier) Gervais. At a young age he and his family moved to Lewiston and he was educated in local schools.

In 1948, Conrad enlisted in and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge in 1952, he married the love of his life, Lorraine Blais, on Oct. 4, 1952, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. They then started a family together.

During that time he worked at Bates Mill, Belgrade Shoe and as a union carpentermillwright until his retirement.

Conrad will always be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing and camping. He also found great pleasure in working in his garden and spending quality time with his family. He will be deeply missed by many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lorraine Gervais, of Lewiston; his children Conrad “Louie” Gervais Jr. and his wife, Rachel, of Poland, Stella Lemieux and her husband, Daniel, of Auburn and Susan Ricker and partner, Donald Blanchette, of Poland.

He also leaves behind his siblings Normand, Phillipe, Emery “Mickey,” Eloi “Curly” and his wife, Lucy, Lee and his wife, Diane, and Clemence Nadeau and her husband, Lucien; as well as his six grandchildren, Levi and his fiancee, Courtney, Dustin and his wife, Amy, Stephanie and her fiance, Glenn, Christopher and his partner, Jess, Jason, Brian and his fiancee, Nicole; nine great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Marilyn, Brooke, Isabelle, Cameron, Damian, Laila, Cassia and Donny.

He was predeceased by his son, Stephen; and his siblings Richard, Angelo, Gene and Jackie.
