LEWISTON — Jacqueline D. Dumont, 95, of Lewiston peacefully passed away at her home Monday, May 21, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in St. Evarist, Quebec, Canada, on Oct. 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Alfred and Yvonne (Giguere) Drouin. She moved to Maine as a child and attended local schools in the Lewiston area.
On June 11, 1947, she married Arthur F. Dumont at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston and they started a family together. During that time, she worked at both Hill and Bates mills as a room girl until her retirement in 1969.
She was a current member of the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul in Lewiston. She will be deeply missed by many.
She is survived by her children Roger Dumont and his wife, Nancy, of Auburn and Jane Dumont of Lewiston. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Mary Jones, and her children Nathan, Erik, Lola and Tihan; her grandson, Darren Dumont, and wife, Cynthia, and their children Samuel, Liam and Oliver; as well as several nieces, nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur, in 1989; her sister, Laurette Jacques; and her brothers, Herode and Racide Drouin.
