LEWISTON — MaryAnn Peach (Berry) Rumery passed away peacefully May 27.

Born June 5, 1940, to Florence May Peach and Vern Milliken, MaryAnn was orphaned at 3 and raised by her grandfather, Arthur Peach, and the Marcotte Children’s Home.

She married Elmer Berry in June 1956, moving to Norfolk, Va., to be near his naval base, returning to Auburn to start their family. MaryAnn worked as a supervisor for Bradlee’s Lewiston. She greatly enjoyed being the wife of a state senator and their active political life.

MaryAnn later married Stephen Rumery of Biddeford. They enjoyed living on their yacht, sailing to the Keys, a home on the coast and were donors of land to the Rachel Carson National Wildlife refuge. She enjoyed antiquing, all beaches and especially the ocean, its harvests and all animals.

MaryAnn is survived by her daughters Jackie Gendron (Chris) and Laurie Berry; grandchildren: Michael Farrell (Lindsay), Sarah Farrell, and Joshua Allen (Tianna); great-grandchildren: Reese Farrell, Mackenna and Finnley Jordan.

Special thanks to Montello Manor Care.

MaryAnn P. Rumery
