AUBURN — A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash early Saturday afternoon when he collided with two cars on Minot Avenue, according to Auburn Police Deputy Chief Jason Moen.

Andrew Jennings, 24, of Mechanic Falls, was driving east at high speed and passing cars when he struck a westbound vehicle driven by Gina Thompson, 65, of Sabattus, Moen said.

Jennings was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Thompson was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries that were not serious.

Moen said Jennings’ motorcycle also collided with another westbound car driven by Bobby Thibodeau, 41, of Mechanic Falls. Thibodeau was not injured.

Jennings driver’s license was under suspension and did not have a motorcycle endorsement at the time of the crash, according to Moen.

Outer Minot Avenue between Merrow Road and the Minot town line was closed to traffic after the 1 p.m. crash and reopened at 5 p.m.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed in this case, Moen said.

Auburn police were assisted by an accident reconstruction team from the Gorham Police Department.
