AUGUSTA — Roger George Levesque, Sr., 63, of Lewiston joined his heavenly father on Thursday, June 7, at Togus VA in Augusta. He was born on Sept. 3, 1954, in Lewiston, a son of the late Omer and Rita (Goyette) Levesque.
Roger came from a large family with many brothers and sisters who will miss him dearly; Diane Rioux of Kentucky, Nancy Barmes of Virginia, Joan Smith, Dolores Levesque, Judy LeRiche, and Lisa Lloyd all of North Carolina, and David Levesque of Maine. Roger proudly served our country in the United States Army for eight years and it was a great point of pride in his life and led him to some work at the VA hospital helping other veterans. Roger was also an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed watching as many games as he could. Other pastimes included camping and fishing. He loved to laugh and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Roger is survived by his five children; Roger Levesque Jr. and his wife Jamie of Lewiston, Tanya Wing and her husband Eric of Topsham, Melody Leclair and her husband Adam of Harpswell, Heather Ranaletta of North Carolina, and Ashley Levesque of Florida. He also leaves behind his 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Omer Levesque Jr. and Paul Levesque.
The family wishes to extend their special thanks and gratitude to the staff at the VA hospital in Togus, particularly the hospice unit. Words cannot express how much their kindness meant to them.
Condolences may be shared with Roger’s family at www.thefortingrouplewiston.com.
