LEWISTON — Marlene A. Gendreau, 85, of Lewiston was peacefully called to be with the Lord and her husband, Roland, while at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, surrounded by family on Friday, June 8.

Marlene was born in Lewiston on Jan. 24, 1933, a daughter of Ernest and Adelia (Roy) Turcotte. She attended St. Peter’s Schoool and was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was married to Roland Gendreau of Lewiston on April 7, 1951. She worked at shoe shops and Bates Mill for 23 years.

Marlene was an angel on this earth and is now and angel in heaven. She was blessed with a beautiful family, whom she was so proud of, special friends and caring and helpful neighbors. Her passion was dancing and having company over to visit, especially on Saturdays with her family.

Marlene is survived by two daughters, Diane Chabot and husband, Bill, of Lewiston, Donna Hall and husband, Stu, of Litchfield; two sons, Jerry Gendreau and wife, Joanne, of Durham, Larry Gendreau and wife, Ann, of Monmouth; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marlene was predeceased by her loving husband, Roland, on May 23, 1982; her companion, Robert Savard, on Sept. 26, 2012; both her parents; and all of her siblings.

Marlene’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their tender and loving care.
