FARMINGTON — Lauraine C. Dakin, 76, of Main Street in Dixfield, passed away Monday, June 11, at Franklin Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Waterville on July 15, 1941, a daughter of Joseph and Rose (Raymond) Pelletier.
Lauraine was a graduate of Stephens High School.
She married Harry R. Dakin on May 6, 1958. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Lauraine was employed as manager and head cook for SeniorsPlus for many years.
She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.
Lauraine enjoyed fishing and camping, but most of all she loved being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Harry Dakin of Dixfield; her children Wanda Smith of Florida, Donna Rousseau of Wareham, Mass., Brenda Carle and husband, Timothy, of Berwick; brothers Louie Pelletier and wife, Mary, of Fairfield, Patrick Pelletier of Peru, Richard Pelletier of Andover, Edmond Pelletier of Waterville; little sister, Joyce Mason; sister-in-law, Ronnie Ann Pelletier of Rumford; grandchildren Shaunna, Justin, Theresa, Christopher, Matthew, Brandon, Joshua, Ashley, and great-grandchildren Cooper and Myles.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Claude, Reggie, Fernand “Babe” and Leon; sisters Donalda “Don” Good, Angie Blair, Gloria Eddy, Evangeline “Van” Ferland; and very special aunt, Ann.
