DIXFIELD — Regional School Unit 56 voters passed a $12.28 million budget Tuesday by a vote of 881-459, Superintendent Pam Doyen said.
The tallies were: Dixfield, 342-194; Peru, 309-195; Canton, 161-52; and Carthage, 69-18.
The 2018-19 budget is slightly higher than this fiscal year, which ends June 30.
Barry Prescott of Dixfield kept his seat on the school board with 342 votes, as did Samantha Noyes of Dixfield who got 414. Both were unopposed.
Ronnie Hutchinson of Carthage is resigning from the board at the end of the month and town officials will appoint a successor, Town Clerk Linda Berry said.
Carl Lueders of Canton won a three-year term on the school board with 187 votes. He succeeds Anne Chamberlin who chose not to run again.
Write-in candidate Angela Cushman of Peru was appointed to succeed Edgar Parent, who chose not to run again.
