A local resident was arraigned in the municipal court, Auburn, Friday, charged with trying to take away a wagon load of junk, the property of Henry Baker of New Auburn. He was arrested by Officer Ratcliffe. In answer to Judge Webber’s questions, he said he didn’t know, hardly, why he took it. He said he saw it lying there, apparently without friends or relatives, and decided to load it into his wagon, and give it a good home. It is understood that he had been consorting with J. H. Barleycorn, and Judge Webber put him on six months probation.
