RUMFORD — Noreen T. Aleck, 61, of Middle Avenue in Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 8.

She was born in Rumford on March 31, 1957, a daughter of Robert and Violet (Wright) Sevigny.

Noreen was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1975.

She was employed at Oxford County Mental Health for many years. Prior to this she was employed for many years with Rumford Group Homes. Noreen’s charisma and compassion for others made her great and succeed at her job.

Noreen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her garden, going for long rides, lending a listening ear to all who needed one, and laughing with those she loved.

Surviving are her mother, Jeanne Sevigny of Scarborough; a son, Alger M. Aleck of Mexico; a daughter, Megan Aleck and companion Ryan Cote of Rumford; two sisters, Donna Weston of Mexico and Wanda Mitchell and husband Joe of Scarborough; four brothers, Robert Sevigny of Auburn, Steven Owens and wife Darlene of Florida, Wayne Sevigny and wife Cheryl of Peru and Allen Owens of Rumford; the Light of Her Life, were her two grandchildren, Kelcee Aleck and Alger Aleck, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and the Love of her Life, her husband, Dale Aleck.
