NORWAY — A weekly Kayaking Wellness Program is coming to the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine.
To help everyone get ready, Sarah Carter, coordinator for 5210 Let’s Go of Oxford County, will be offering introductory lessons for basic kayaking from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, June 23 and June 30.
Before moving back to Maine, Sarah guided day and week-long kayak tours in St. John, USVI. Participants will learn about efficient paddling, balance and boat safety and should bring a kayak, paddle and personal flotation device if available. There will be a few boats to demonstrate and try out.
Participants will meet at the public boat launch located in Pennesseewassee Park on Route 118 on Norway Lake.
The weekly Kayaking Wellness Program will begin Saturday, July 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the public boat launch and continue through August. Visit crcofwm.org for schedule and updates, and call 207-890-0329 for more information.
