FARMINGTON — Ronald A. Roy, 75, a resident of Jay, passed away Saturday, June 16, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, following a lingering illness.
He was born July 14, 1942, in Farmington, the son of Alfred Roy and Lillian (LeClerc) Roy. He was a 1960 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Ron worked for International Paper Co. until his retirement in 2004. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the International Paper Co. Quarter Century Club and a life member of the Amvets Post 37 in Jay. Following his retirement, Ron enjoyed traveling to Florida and his true passion was reading.
He is survived by his brothers Robert Roy and his wife, Pauline, and Richard “Ricky” Roy, all of Jay, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and by brothers Roger and Raymond Roy.
