YARMOUTH — Cory Christopher L’Etoile, 48, entered the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior Sunday, June 17.

He was born Feb. 13, 1970, in Hyannis, Mass., a son of Raymond and Deborah Sullivan L’Etoile. He was a graduate of Mt. Ararat, ’88, where he captained the boys’ varsity hockey team his senior year. He later attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle, but found his love of the water drawing him back to the Brunswick area he considered home.

He worked several years as a commercial lobsterman out of South Harpswell. Most recently he enjoyed working outdoors as a landscaper and a welder for US South Mechanical.

Everyone he met knew right away he was a “gentle giant.” His kind and free spirit made him a favorite in any circle of friends; and friends no matter how close could depend on his generosity of spirit to help others. He always “danced to a different drummer” and never bothered trying too hard to follow social norms. It was said by many who knew him, “The world needs more men like Cory”.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, George Sullivan and Raymond L’Etolie; a grandmother, Frances L’Etoile; an uncle, Richard Sullivan; his beloved dogs, Suki, Willow, and Bandit.

Cory is survived by his parents, Ray and Deb L’Etoile of Turner; a sister Jennifer Reynolds and her husband Glen of North Turner; two nieces, Peyton Fuller and Kylie Fuller of North Turner; a grandmother, Edna Sullivan of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia; his girlfriend of many years, Cat Bourbon of Yarmouth; several uncles and aunts, and cousins.

Sing and Dance with the angels, our sweet boy … until we meet again.
