The opinion page cartoon in the Sun Journal on June 20, portraying the caged children at the border, was erroneous and offensive. That is not a joke. No way are the children being treated in this manner. They are sheltered, fed, clothed and clean — chances are, better treated than they were in their own countries.
I would hold the Sun Journal to a higher standard by avoiding the liberal frenzy that is happening in this country. No one likes to see children separated from their parents but we all need to step back and face the reality of the situation that has festered for years.
Anyone entering the United States illegally is breaking the law; there are consequences for everyone breaking the law, not only the illegal immigrants.
If an American dad breaks the law and goes to jail he is separated from his children. Military soldiers serving in war zones are also separated from their children. Where is the outcry about that?
