LEWISTON — Carol D. Anthony, 82, of Auburn passed suddenly Wednesday, July 11, at CMMC, with family at her side. Carol was born Dec. 28, 1935. She was born to Sumner and Gwendolyn Doten.

Carol was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little, where she met her lifetime sweetheart, George W. Anthony. They married after graduating in 1954.

She was a stay-at-home-mom, raising her three children.

Later in life, she worked at Wallingford’s Orchards and Seltzer and Rydholm Bottling Co., retiring in 1993.

She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting and beano, but her friends and family brought her the most joy.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Anthony; her mother and father; her brothers Liewellyn (Bud), and Hugh; her sisters Ruth (Sweet) Adams and twin sister Carolyn Witham.

Carol is survived by her sister, Beverly Parker, of Nashua, N.H.; her children Mark Anthony and wife, Pamela, of Mechanic Falls, Terry Trembly and husband, Marcel, of Florida, George Anthony and wife, Ann, of Auburn; grandchildren Derek Aurthur of Ellsworth, Emily and her husband, Norman Lizette, of Mechanic Falls; great-grandchildren Grady, Oliver, Olivia Allen; and nieces and nephews.
