MECHANIC FALLS — Hannaford is opening its 63rd store July 28 on Pigeon Hill Road.
At 20,000 square feet, it’s Hannaford’s smallest grocery store to include a pharmacy, spokesman Eric Blom said.
“We know that it is a needed service in this community,” Blom said. “Our team worked hard to design a store that not only provides access to prescription drugs, but also maintains the full range of fresh and packaged groceries that customers need from their supermarket.”
The new store at the corner of Routes 11 and 26 is expected to employ between 80 and 100 full- and part-time workers. Blom said most positions have been filled and applications are still being taken.
In addition to the pharmacy, Blom said, it will have a full-service deli and a beer cave and will stock some locally produced and Maine-made products.
Hannaford is planning a grand opening July 28 starting at 7 a.m. with door prizes, food and activities.
