DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to Mark’s inquiry (Sun Spots, July 16) about high school members celebrating 50th reunions, he might want to check out the Lisbon Golden Reunion Facebook page. All classmates who graduated 50 years ago or more are invited to this celebration each year. We have a great time, and it’s so special to connect with those classmates who may not have graduated the same year, but with whom we were friends back in the day.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In regard to a recent request from Mark, our Edward Little Class of 1951 has celebrated their 65th class reunion. Many members meet at the Village Inn at 11:15 a.m. every fourth Friday for lunch and catch-up time. Some classmates attend while in Maine on vacation over the summer or when visiting their families. We’re always happy to see ’51 classmates! I can be reached at 207-783-1393.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In regard to the July 13 Sun Spots, I believe the flags on the Vietnam War Memorial Bridge were placed there by retired Lewiston firefighter Norm “Buzz” Metayer.  He did it anonymously until the last time, when he “retired” from that duty. I think he winters in Florida, but may be comes to the area during the summer, as he still has family in Lewiston. He was pretty well-known for his pick-up truck camper which has a large American flag painted on the front. I, too, wish that this great tradition could be carried on!

ANSWER: If anyone knows how to reach Buzz or his family members, or is interested in taking over caring for the flags, please write to Sun Spots!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We have some great products being donated to SHAREcenter but are in need of space to store them, ideally in the Lewiston-Auburn area. A space between 600 and 1,000 square feet would be fantastic! Please contact me at 207-333-6671 if you have a storage space or know of someone who may. Thank you!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m writing with an update to my request in the July 12 Sun Spots for an old projector. Thanks to the power of Sun Spots, Al Kaplan, president of the Wilton Farm and Home Museum in Wilton, saw my request and offered up the use of his old projector. Though Al’s projector was not exactly the right size for our film, it did the job and allowed us to see that the film was of my grandparents in the late 1950s on a trip to Puerto Rico. I very much appreciation this.

—Bethany, Greene

ANSWER: So glad we could help, Bethany! And you’re right; “the power of Sun Spots” does work! I love to see readers reaching out to help one another. It’s very inspiring and it’s the reason I love being Mrs. Sun Spots.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: When I watch the All-Star baseball games, half the scores are missing even though I have a 55-inch TV. Thursday night football will be on this station, too, so I hope they can get their act together before then.

ANSWER: I do believe you just need to adjust your TV settings. Readers, can you offer advice if I’m wrong about that?
