AUBURN — Rose LaChapelle, 84, of Minot died July 19 at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her son by her side. Rose was born Feb. 28, 1934, and was the daughter of Henry and Juliette Gastonguay.
After graduating she moved from Auburn to California to start her family. After her children were born, they returned to Maine. She worked at Maine Electronics where she made parts for the space shuttles. She kept herself busy during her retirement by working at the L.L. Bean Call Center and making Christmas wreaths for St. Philip’s Church where she was a member. She also enjoyed gardening and eating lobster rolls and ice cream.
She was predeceased by her son, Steve LaChapelle, daughter, Jacqueline LaChapelle, and her sister, Rita Dyer. She is survived by her son, Robert LaChapelle, her daughter, Helen Harper; her brother, Raymond Gastonguay, her sisters: Henrietta Graziano, Theresa Foster and Monique Sullivan; her grandchildren: Amanda, Chris, Ronnie and Michael and 12 great-grandchildren.
