BRUNSWICK — The Maine State Music Theatre will present “Bye Bye Birdie” with two performances, at 2 and 7:30 p.m., on Monday, July 30.

A loving send-up of the 1960s, small-town America, teenagers and rock and roll, “Bye Bye Birdie” remains as fresh and vibrant as ever. Teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie has been drafted, so he chooses all-American girl Kim MacAfee for a very public farewell kiss. Featuring a tuneful high-energy score and a hilarious script, “Bye Bye Birdie” continues to thrill audiences around the world. Hit songs include “Put on a Happy Face,” “One Last Kiss,” “One Boy,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids!” and “Rosie.”

The cast includes Alec Duffy Talbott as Conrad Birdie, Elisabeth Christie as Rose Alvarez, Caleb James Grochalski as Albert Peterson, Glenn Anderson (Portland) as Harry MacAfee, Nakesha “Kay” Warren (Lewiston) as Doris MacAfee, Lauren McDonald as Kim MacAfee, Declan Kelley (Gorham) as Randolph MacAfee, Michael Olaribigbe as Hugo Peabody, Stevie Ann Mack as Ursula Merkle. Rounding out the ensemble is Jake Hartman as Harvey Johnson, Melaina Corey Rairamo as Nancy/Gloria R, Siobhan Kelley (Gorham) as Alice, Miles Obrey (Gorham) as Karl, Andrew Carney (Millinocket) as Freddie, Jenny Brown (Topsham) as ensemble, Veronica Druchniak (Standish) as Margie, Ben Walker-Dubay (Kennebunkport) as ensemble, Holly Hinchliffe (Portland) as Helen, Cathy Matero (Bath) as Mae Peterson, Brian Pelletier (West Bath) as ensemble, Rebeckah Perry (Bangor) as ensemble and Jacob Sutherland (Oakland) as ensemble.

The show is directed and choreographed by Raymond Marc Dumont (Portland). Music is directed by Curtis Reynolds. Costume design is by Cee-Cee Swalling; lighting design is by Annalise Caudle; sound design by Nate Dickson; and props design by Michael Bracey. Stage manager for the show is Domingo Mancuello.
