MINOT — The Minot Historical Society will host its 2nd annual Civil War Encampment on Aug. 4 and 5 at its building at 493 Center Minot Hill Road..

The public event is free.

Re-enactors for the 5th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, the 15th Alabama Infantry and the 3rd Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment will take part. There will be military drills, clothing to try on and a Civil War period surgical tent.

There will be tours of the historical parsonage and Congregational Church atop Center Minot Hill.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 4 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 5.

Hot dog lunches will be sold both days, and breakfast will be available to the public Sunday morning. All proceeds go toward the historical parsonage and society events. Donations are always welcome.

A brief Sunday service at 9 a.m. will be conducted by a period chaplain.
