Texas Hold’em poker
PARIS — The AMVETS monthly Texas Hold’em poker tournaments are held from 5 p.m. to midnight on the first Friday of the month at the American Legion Hall.
The event is open to the public. The Auxiliary will have a food concession open from 5 p.m. until the end of second break. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Buy-in is usually $50 with a license fee of $5 and an optional $5 High Hand.

MLT’s Whitecap Gourmet Hike
RUMFORD — Mahoosuc Land Trust will lead the Whitecap Gourmet Hike Saturday, Aug. 4.
Hikers will meet at 9 a.m. at the trailhead on East Andover Road and should bring a lunch item to share at the picnic on the summit.

Bowling Pin Shoot at range
PARIS — Norway/Paris Fish and Game will have Bowling Pin Shoots Saturday, Aug. 4, at the club’s range on Buckfield Road. It will begin at 9 a.m.
Participants can sign up for $5 and shoot as many times s you would like at the pins 25 feet away in a timed event.

Texas Hold’em poker tournament planned
LOCKE MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, will host a Texas Hold’em poker tournament Saturday, Aug. 4, at 595 Gore Road.
Doors will open at 11 a.m. and games will begin at 1 p.m. There will be a $50 buy-in, a 50/50 raffle, pull tabs and refreshments. Players may bring their own beverages. The hall is air-conditioned.
Pineau Family benefit planned
PERU — A benefit for Chris Pineau’s family will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Honey Run Campground. Pineau passed away in March of this year.
There will be an auction, and a band will play from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost for adults is $7, children 10 and younger, $3. Those attending may bring their own drinks to this outdoor event.

Porter Lake bean-hole supper
STRONG — The Porter Lake Association will hold its 49th annual Bean-Hole Bean Supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Strong Beach on Porter Lake. In case of rain, it will be held in the Forster Building.
Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 11 and free for children younger than 5.
Those attending should bring a salad or dessert to share.
The annual Bean-Hole Bean Supper is an important source for financing PLA work to protect the lake and support town and lake and community educational activities.
