JAY — A local woman and a New York man are accused of selling heroin and crack cocaine from her apartment on Main Street, according to police.

Angie  Braley, 37, of Jay and Darnell Smith, 20, of Bronx, New York, were arrested early Monday morning after police executed a search warrant at apartment 1 at 446 Main St. Drug agents found 121.2 grams of what they suspect is heroin and 85.2 grams of what they suspect is crack cocaine, according to a drug agent’s affidavit filed with a Farmington court.

The street value of the drugs is $45,000.

Agents also seized other items related to drug trafficking, including a digital scale, according to the affidavit.

Jay police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency received information Sunday that drugs were being sold out of the apartment, and executed a search warrant early Monday morning following a “thorough investigation,” according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Braley and Smith were each charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and aggravated trafficking of crack cocaine.

Conditions of release for both suspects include no contact with each other and no possession or use of illegal drugs and alcohol.

Assisting drug agents were officers from Farmington and Wilton police departments, and deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
