RUMFORD — Charles E. Luther died Saturday, July 28, at the Rumford Community Home after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1927, to Charles and Flora (Brown) Luther in Rumford. He went to schools in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School in 1946.
He went directly into the U.S. Army — the draft was still active — and served in the 720th MP Corps in Tokyo. He retired from Boise Cascade Paper Mill in 1994, with 36 years of service.
He married Ida Gallant in 1960. They raised three children and he was delighted and proud of them all every day of his life.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Reta Armstrong.
He is survived by his wife, Ida; his daughter, Jean, and husband, Alan Clark; grandson, Daniel Clark; granddaughter, Sarah Clark; his son Frank Luther; his son Thomas, and wife, Mary; and grandchildren Roger and Elizabeth Luther.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of the Sandy River Nursing Home in Farmington and the Rumford Community Home. You were great. God bless you all.

Charles E. Luther
