JAY — Russell “Rusty” Scott Shaffer, 59, of Jay passed away Tuesday, July 31, at his home.
He was born April 14, 1959, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Lawrence Shaffer and Donna (Nelson) Shaffer. He was a 1977 graduate of Jay High School. He loved and was terrific at woodworking. He also loved his animals, especially his dogs.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Hannon Palmer, of Livermore; siblings Randy Shaffer and wife, Jane, of Portland; Teri Sherrets and husband, Steve, of North Monmouth; and Jim and Christie Shaffer, both of Ohio; his companion, Tammy Winter Capen, of Jay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Shaffer; his brother, Richard Shaffer; and stepfather, Ernie Hannon.
