NORWAY — Volunteers at the Progress Center have been making heart and neck pillows, bags, rice packs and port protectors for those impacted by cancer.

The program began in 2015 and Cancer Resource Center Coordinator Sherri Otterson has shown them how to stuff pillows, fill rice packs and sew. The center has given away more than 40 items each month.

The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, 199 Main St., accepts donations of supplies for those who are helping to make comfort items. Anyone wishing to help should contact Otterson at 207-890-0329.

Holding comfort items made by the Progress Center in Norway are, from left, front row, Joyce Bryant, Brenda Burgess and Georgia Cote; back row, Raeline Perry and Bonnie Robitaille.
