DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the July 25 Sun Spots about refurbishing an old trunk, several months ago I found a great place where that kind of work is done, Brettuns Village, Inc. at 557 Lincoln St. in Lewiston. The business is owned by Churchill Barton. He has refinished one of my trunks which dates back to the 1880s and is working on another one. He has old trunks for sale also. I highly recommend him to all your readers.

ANSWER: Thanks for this reminder! I have recommended Churchill before and have also heard great things. The number there is 207-782-7863. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They share the building with the Leather Shop.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for someone who could give me information about roadside places where I could rent a table or two in order to display many items for sale. Please call me at 207-225-3991. Thanks!

—James, Turner

ANSWER: I’m not sure if you’re looking for a place right in Turner, but readers, is Riverside Flea Market in Lisbon still in operation? That might be a good spot for James. Please write in if you have other ideas.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Leeds Clothing Center on 160 Church Hill Road (the yellow Grange building next to Russell Medical Center) in Leeds is having another Bag Sale on Aug. 11. There are still lots of summer clothes, and maternity and children’s clothes. The clothes are $2 per bag, and there is no limit to the number of bags you buy. This clothing center is connected to the Leeds Community Church, with all proceeds going to their food bank. The hours are 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays.

Please come help yourself to lots of nice clothes. We have a large supply of sizes 1x, 2x and 3x clothes for women. We also have a very large amount of men’s clothes. We have household items, shoes, books, toys, craft supplies and winter coats and boots at very reasonable prices. The clothes are all hung up or in boxes by size. Remember, the money raised helps to stock the food pantry. The need is greater than ever. We appreciate Sun Spots for all it does for all area nonprofits. Thank you!
