CANTON — Irene M. Richard, 85, formerly of Roxbury Road in Mexico, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Pinnacle Health & Rehabilitation, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born in Rumford on March 6, 1933, to Marie Angel (Boucher) and Joseph L. Simard. She was one of 12 children.
Irene was the widow of Raymond K. Richard, who predeceased her in 2010.
She is survived by sons Michael of Mexico, Lawrence (Marie) of Carthage, David of Rumford, William (Goldie) of Virginia and Ricky (Susan) of Maryland; daughters Linda Jackson (Lindy Latham), Susan (Kevin Cormier) and Diane (Tom Drapeau), of Rumford, and Debbie Cullins of Mexico; brothers Joseph L. Simard (Jean Gammon) of Andover, Robert (Anita) and Daryl, of Rumford; sisters Lorraine Barre of Rumford; Connie Jacques and Sylvia Simard, of Arizona; Brandy Burgess of Texas; and Theresa Webber of Florida; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Irene was predeceased by her son, Steven Richard; two sisters Jeanette Cote and Shirley Cote; a brother, Roger Simard; former son-in-law, William Jackson; grandson, Aaron Jackson; and great-grandson, Matthew Thurston.
